Internal and external drive digital image recovery

There are two types of photo recovery. These are the recovery of photos from your hard disk or solid state computer internal drive. And recovery of image files from your digital camera and any digital media connected to that camera. Usually when we download image files from our camera or its memory card to our computer, that process using Twain Software converts the original file format to a more conventional file type. For example one might convert a Canon CR2 file to a simple JPEG during the process of download. These more conventional file types are easier to work with in terms of editing and archiving. Photo recovery of these file types is accomplished by using a general purpose data recovery tool designed to support your operating system.

The second type of photo recovery requires us to locate and reconstruct files before they are downloaded. These files will almost always be in the camera manufacturer’s RAW format. Because of this Windows image recovery or photo recovery Mac users software must be able to recognize these specialized files. Basically what this means is that when attempting photo recovery from digital media one must purchase a targeted program designed to support the specific operating system and the specific camera file types involved.
